First blog. Woo Hoo!!!

Howdy all! This is my first attempt at a blog. I wanted to create a place to post interesting, off-beat pictures from my job as a full-time staff photojournalist at a daily newspaper in CT (They still exist??).

Also, since obtaining a few obsolete digital cameras, including a soon to arrive Kodak NC2000e! I wanted to have a place to share images from them, because I know there are many folks out there who enjoy older cameras and the old digital ones are no exception.

In the photo, I'm holding a Kodak DCS-420. When it came out in 1994 it cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $14,000. I picked one up on Ebay in like-new condition for only $50.!

So enjoy and stay tuned...

P.S. A note about the name of my blog. "It's a snap" was a phrase an editor said to me when I was just starting out in news photography. Carl Romanelli Sr. was one of the great "old school" editors. He used to chomp on his cigar while on the night city desk position at the Citizen's Voice in my hometown of Wilkes-Barre, PA. I owe a lot of the success of my career to him. He used to call me up at 1 AM all the time and say there was a fire here or a big wreck there that he wanted me to cover. I learned a lot from him. He was tough on me, always pushing me to go the extra mile in my work. Great guy!
